How to pay RTO fine online in Maharashtra?

To pay RTO fines online in Maharashtra, go through the instructions available below.

  • Go to e-challan portal at https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/.
  • Click on the ‘Pay Online’ option.
  • Enter your challan number, vehicle number, DL Number, CAPTCHA, as shown on the webpage, and tap on the Get Details button.
  • Click on the Pay Now button.
  • Choose the debit card, credit card, or NET banking, and make payment.

You can also pay RTO fines using the ‘mParivahan’ mobile application, which you can download from the Play Store for your Android device or from the App Store for your iOS device.

What happens if the RTO fine in Maharashtra is not paid on time?

It is mandatory to pay RTO fines within 15 days of their issuance. Failure to do so may result in your receiving a notice from the court. Furthermore, late payment may also incur additional penalties.

Pending fines can lead to other complications; for instance, a PUC certificate is a mandatory document for driving on public roads, and regulations now stipulate that all outstanding challans must be cleared in order to get it renewed.

If you leave your fines pending, you will be unable to renew your Pollution Under Control certificate in the future; and if you are caught driving without a valid PUC certificate, you will face further fines.
