How to register any vehicle with the RTO in Delhi?
To get your vehicle registered with any authority in Delhi, you will first need to arrange physical copies of the following documents:
- Form 20 – Application for Registration
- Form 21 – Sales Certificate (from dealer)
- Form 22 – Road Worthiness Certificate (from manufacturer)
- Valid Motor Insurance Copy
- Address Proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Utility Bill, etc.)
- Identity Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)
- Vehicle Invoice (Bill Copy)
- Temporary Registration (if issued)
- PUC Certificate (Pollution Under Control)
- Road Tax Payment Receipt
- Passport-size Photographs
- Form 34 (if the vehicle is on loan / hypothecation case)
After collecting all the documents, you should fill out Form 20, and if your car is on loan, then in this situation you will have to sign Form 34 yourself as well as get it done by the financier.
Then, make a photocopy of all the documents and make a show that they are all self-attested, and then go to your nearest RTO.
After reaching the RTO, tell the staff that you need to register your work. They will start the process by first verifying all your documents, against which you will have to deposit the registration fees, road tax, RC smart card fee, number plate fee, and any other charges.
The Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) will inspect your vehicle and verify it himself, including engine number, chassis number, emission norms, and other details. And within a few days you will get your original RC.
